VICTORIA, Texas – Victoria Independent School District received a $1 million grant from the Texas Education Agency for students with Autism.
VISD used part of the money from the grant to put a sensory path in the hallway of elementary schools.
“We installed a sensory path in all 14 elementary campuses. The paths are about 40 to 60 feet long,” says Brianne Harryman, VISD Physical Therapist.
These paths are another way students can learn important sensory impacts through jumping, balancing, pushing and rolling.
